Job Description/Responsibility

  • The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. The School is one of the autonomous, self-governing colleges of the University of London.
  • We are seeking to appoint a full time Quality Manager to support the Head of Quality & Academic Standards with the management of the School’s quality assurance and enhancement activities. The postholder is responsible to the Head of Quality and Academic Standards and works closely with the Associate Dean (Quality, Academic Standards, and Collaborative Provision) and other senior academic staff. The postholder will manage the Quality and Academic Standards Officers and will be responsible for delivering a high quality, user-focused support service and driving service improvements.
  • The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional qualification) or have evidence of significant experiential learning. The postholder will have significant experience of working in a quality assurance and enhancement environment within the UK Higher Education sector and will have experience of producing complex procedural documents and regulations for a variety of audiences. The postholder will have experience of managing or supervising a team as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build effective working relationships at all levels. The postholder will have strong IT skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and interpret data. They will be able to work flexibly and collaboratively in order to manage different priorities and competing deadlines.
  • The post is full-time and permanent, and available with immediate effect. The salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 6 scale in the range £38,533 to £43,759 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
