Job Description/Responsibility

  • We are seeking to appoint four highly motivated Project Coordinators to work in the Clinical Research, Disease Control, Immunology and Infection, and Pathogen Molecular Biology Departments. These departments, the latter two being primarily laboratory-based, are all based within the School’s Keppel Street building.  The post holder will work collaboratively with research teams within these departments while being based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
  • The successful applicant will be expected to lead, manage and be responsible for all aspects of the administrative coordination and financial management for Department research projects. As a key member of Department and the first point of contact for those projects, the post-holder will provide guidance on their management and administration, from funding costings for application, project set up, management and closure (the complete life cycle), working closely with the Principal Investigators (PIs) and liaising with partner institutions where necessary.
Applicants must possess substantial experience of providing proactive administrative support of academic research, including proven ability to monitor large budgets and prepare accurate costings, projections and reports. The successful candidate must be able to prove his/her ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems; to manage a busy workload; and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience of managing large complex grants would be an advantage. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The post is available on a full-time basis commencing immediately, with the following contract length:
