Job Description/Responsibility

  • This post is full time and fixed term until 12/12/2020
  • The Department of Anthropology seeks to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Biostatistics to consolidate its strength in Statistics and research methods. This position will appoint at grade 7 and it would be appropriate for early-career academics with expertise in Applied Statistics or Biostatistics. You will be expected to develop your personal research portfolio in applied health research.
  • The successful candidate will work with academic colleagues at Durham University and the neighbouring universities, local NHS Trusts and Research Design Service-North East and North Cumbria (RDS NENC) to advance application and development of statistical methods in applied health research. This is a demanding role and requires working on multiple projects within agreed timeline. You will develop your status as an active researcher by taking responsibility for research projects, developing and disseminating new methodologies to solve health related problems.
  • The project is time limited and will end on 12 December 2020 therefore it is not likely that post will be extended past the fixed term period. Successful applicants will ideally be in post by 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
