Job Description/Responsibility

  • Opening the duplicate/finance files when the matter is finalised/postponed/part settled as per our trial list.
  • Preparing files to costs.
  • Obtain all the experts invoices from various experts.
  • Peruse the bill of costs to ensure that all expenses are included in the bill of costs and confirm with the cost consultant when same is in order.
  • Debt Recovery
  • RAF Matters
  • Diarise all the capital outstanding payment to ensure recovery of same within the prescribed period.
  • Issue writs to ensure recovery of both capital and costs.
  • Liaise with Sheriff to remove/sell should payment not be made for both capita and costs.
  • State Matters
  • Diarising both capital and costs to ensure recovery
  • Drafting all the relevant notices to the organ of the state attorneys to ensure recovery with regards to all the settled matters.
  • Issuing of writs and Rule 45’s
  • Advertise the sale in execution to both  local newspaper to ensure recovery
  • Reconciling of accounts to various clients( instructing attorneys/direct clients)
  • Ability to follow up effectively on payments queries
  • Department daily duties  
  • Attend to all the department payments (business, trust, petty cash) to various suppliers and clients, eg:  hospitals, clinics, police stations, doctors, witnesses.
  • Preparing the monthly report on the cash flow issues
  • Liaising with the cost consultant to expedite taxation process
  • Once the matter is finalised in toto and all monies are recovered and paid to relevant suppliers, to close the file.

  • The ability to display initiative
  • The ability to deal with difficult clients (and defending unpopular rules and policies) is a requirement
  • Client focus is essential (this is a services environment)

  • Possess well developed interpersonal and communications skills, which includes but is not limited to good telephone and email etiquette
  • The ability to work and cope under pressure – deadline driven
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is of utmost importance
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision
