Job Description/Responsibility

Review and regulate the debt and specialist products of issuers in compliance at a leading financial service provider for a Senior Corporate Finance Officer role. The successful incumbent must have 3- 5 years? work experience in a similar financial / stock broker environment.
  • Provide input into the formalisation for the divisional budget
  • Provide strategic thinking and contributions to crafting of divisional business plan based on professional knowledge and experience, to ensure delivery of focus areas for the tear in support of divisional strategy
  • Apply cost-effective principles in planning and delivery to contribute to achievement of divisional financial targets
  • Manage own delivery against agreed deliverables and set timelines, identify obstacles to delivery and take appropriate action where required
  • Perform second reader quality and accuracy review prior to informal in order to ensure consistency and credibility
  • Review and analyse documentation and announcements submitted by issuers seeking to list to ensure compliance with the company's listing requirements and make recommendations to ensure compliance
  • Analyse products and highlight the key features of each product in order to ensure proper classification and regulation under the correct company's listing requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timeous dissemination of comments through internal communication as well as continuous consideration and focus on the submission dates, deadlines and accuracy
  • Guide decision making at technical meetings in order to find solutions on issues of non-compliance and to give clarity on technical in-principle approval requests as well as to highlight potential risk areas relating to specialist products
  • Attend ongoing training sessions in order to obtain and build on expert product knowledge, which will assist in mitigating market risk
  • Provide specialist input on products, systems and regulations, through interpretation and application of the listing requirements, step-by-step WEDSTIR system guidance and conveying specialised knowledge on various products
  • Identify obstacles and major challenges through continuous review of processes and standards in order to ensure effective operational alignment to strategic priorities
  • Attend to day-to-day identified and / or escalated problems through thorough analyses of the situations and risks involved in order to ensure that the solutions are in line with the divisional strategic objectives and in adherence to the company's standards and procedures
  • Identify areas of uncertainty reactively by engaging with market players / external stakeholder to identify and resolve issues when vetting documentation for listing
  • Handle difficult client conversations around technical listing requirements
  • Review of peer's work and related decisions taken to ensure that major risk areas have been addressed prior to submission to the Overnight Committee
