Job Description/Responsibility

  • Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture (Ref.: 201801570) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10 % of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
  • Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a design-based discipline, and at least 1 year’s instructional experience in material technologies in practice or education. They should be proficient in the use of computer-controlled fabrication machinery including laser cutters, CNC milling machine, 3D printers, and have experience in using and managing traditional wood/metal workshop machinery and power tools. The appointee will perform academic and research-based duties including teaching, writing grant proposals and applying for funding for new equipment and initiatives; provide technical, logistical and pedagogical support to teachers, students and researchers; provide support for the future planning and development of the Fabrication and Robotics Laboratories; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She will be expected to work collaboratively with teachers, supporting staff, and students.
  • A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Please note that the University is not able to offer a relocation assistance package (including temporary University housing accommodation and a passage and baggage allowance) to the successful candidate recruited from overseas.
