  • At the Center for Molecular Bioengineering (B CUBE), an institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering, in the Junior Research Group Multi-scale Analysis of Dr. Igor Zlotnikov the position of a 
  • Research Associate / PhD Position
    In-situ nanomechanical characterization of biomineralized tissue
    (Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
  • is available from 01.11.2017. The position is initially limited for 3,5 years (max. 30.06.2021) with the possibility of extension. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position entails 65% of the fulltime weekly hours. The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD). 
  • Tasks: The main responsibilities will be to perform structural and nanomechanical study of a variety of different mineralized tissues employing nanoindentation-based techniques and electron microscopy-based techniques.
  • Requirements: university (master) degree preferably in the fields of materials science and mechanical engineering. Qualifications should include experience with mechanical characterization, electron microscopy and exhibit technical skills when dealing with delicate and sensitive scientific instrumentation. Strong writing skills with a proven track record of successful research and publication is essential. Excellent communication skills in English are essential as this is the colloquial language at the research center.
