Job Description/Responsibility

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of Advanced Clinical Practice education within the School of Health Sciences, University of Central Lancashire. The post holder will contribute to the activities of the School, and University in regards to teaching, learning and assessment, research and development as well as commercial and other activity.
  • This post would be ideal for practicing Advanced Clinical Practitioners with current clinical experience, and a sound understanding and knowledge of healthcare education and practice within the context of the UK.
  • The successful applicant will have current NMC or HCPC registration, which they have held for a minimum of 2 years. They will hold an honours degree in a health related topic, and will ideally be qualified to post-graduate level. A Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake on appointment is required.
  • The successful applicant must be committed to student success and experience, and be able to show that they can effectively support learning and teaching in both the classroom and practice setting.
  • Therefore teaching experience in clinical practice or the classroom (Higher Education preferred) is essential, as is experience of a variety of teaching approaches.

  • The successful applicant will need to be able to work as team members, as well as be self-reliant. Presentation skills as well as planning and organisational skills are also core requirements for success in these positions.
  • The appointed Lecturer Practitioner will be allocated a named mentor whilst working at the University, and will need the support of their Employer to undertake this position.
