Job Description/Responsibility

  • My client based in Crawley are recruiting for a temporary Chapel Attendant , this is a temporary role ongoing , hours of work Monday - FRIDAY . 9AM / 5PM with a 20 minute break.
  • Duties to include;
  • ensure consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service and provision of all aspects of Serving our Local Communities
  •  prepares chapels for each service considering client needs including varying religious requirements
  • checks order of service and music systems with the Funeral Director to ensure the smooth running of the service
  •  ensure the appropriate location and display of floral tributes
  •  conduct interments of cremated remains
  •  conduct witness interments and scattering of the cremated remains
  •  suggest refinements and improvements in client service to Line Manager
  • ensure the highest standards of house keeping both in and outside the Chapel and ancillary rooms (hoovering, polishing the brass etc.)
  •  supports the Funeral Director and their requests
  •  ensure that all identification procedures are duly completed
  •  identify unnecessary costs and recommend controls to Line Manager
  •  fully comply with Quality Standards Manual and Dignitys Internal Procedures
  • ensure that the working practices, facility, and its equipment are maintained to the highest standards according to Health and Safety legislation and Company regulations
  • carry out any other duties when reasonably requested to do so by your Line Manager
  • be aware of and sensitive to the needs of bereaved people
  •  behaves as an ambassador for the business at all times
  • maintains close professional relationships with the Clergy, Funeral Directors and other opinion formers
  •  participate in and support community events and activities
  •  suggest service refinements to Line Manager designed to enhance
  • conditions for business growth
  • Key Criteria:
  •  committed to the provision of excellent client service
  •  completed full time education to an acceptable standard e.g. GCSE
  •  reasonable numeracy skills
  •  at least average reasoning ability
  •  outgoing and communicative
  •  commitment to corporate funeral service
