Job Description/Responsibility

My client is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Junior Accounts Receivable and Payable Officer . The ideal person will have an ability to forward plan and be able to work within an integrated business with different platforms.

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, processing transactions , ensuring that all income and expenses are allocated to appropriate cost entries
  • Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements, obtaining authorisation of payment in a timely manner
  • Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
  • Follow up on supplier rebates
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments and charge interests on overdue accounts as per agreed contractual obligations
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Conduct daily (or as required) reconciliation of Trading bank account
  • Management of mobile phones, cars, fuel cards
  • Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents in an orderly manner
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • Assist with phone answering
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Any other task assigned by management

  • Experience working within an Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable based roles
  • Ability to work within a fast pace and highly demanding environment
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills and attention to detail
