Job Description/Responsibility

  • The Victorian Agency for Health Information is a newly established agency within the Victorian Government's health portfolio. The Agency is mandated to analyse and share information across the Victorian health system to provide everyone an accurate picture of of hospital and health service performance.
  • Its responsibilities will flow across measurement of patient care and outcomes for three key purposes: public reporting, oversight and clinical improvement.

The newly established Victorian Agency for Health Information seeks to appoint an experienced, talented and dynamic leader as its Chief Executive Officer.

Responsible to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, and working across the health system, you will work to produce, analyse and report health performance data to inform improvements and to increase transparency and accountability across the system. Equipped with strong political acumen and sophisticated interpersonal skills, the appointee will be able to deal with data, concepts and complexity, and will be experienced in providing guidance and support to a senior executive team.

Expertise in development of measurement and information systems to support high quality reporting on health and human services is highly desirable. An appropriate tertiary qualification is required for this high profile and influential role that supports and enhances the wellbeing of all Victorians.
