The Resources & Energy Division delivers policy, programs and compliance for the NSW Government across the minerals and energy sector. The division plays a key role in delivering the NSW Government's priorities for economic growth under NSW 2021 by working to develop thriving resources and energy sectors for NSW.
The Geoscientist would be responsible for the review, validation and uploading of geoscientific data into the corporate geoscientific data warehouse. This role will work with exploration data including drilling and surface geochemistry assays, lithology and downhole surveys captured from company exploration reports.
Data mined from the reports will be assessed, validated and loaded into the relational databases that form the departments Geoscientific Data Warehouse, where it will be published and made available for further analysis.
A degree in earth science related discipline is required, as well as experience in relational database environments. Experience in exploration and mining industries would be beneficial. The work may also involve indexing company reports and data mining activities associated with the extraction and compilation of company data.
