Job Description/Responsibility

About us

  • The Department of Justice provides an effective justice system by delivering programs and services which contribute to building safe communities and the protection of rights. The Department of Justice Strategic Finance team is comprised of Finance Business Partnering, Management Accounting, Treasury and External Reporting, Financial Reporting, Finance Strategy and Procurement.

 About the role

  •  The role of Manager, Corporate Financial Analysis is responsible for supporting the management of the Department’s Management Accounting function. The role will involve the development of financial management reports, including departmental monthly reports for Divisions, reporting on capital expenditure, budget and financial forecasting, strategic revenue and cost programs and the provision of financial management and financial analysis services to Business Centre Managers and Executives. The role will report directly to the Director of Management Accounting and will be responsible for managing the financial analysis team, which consists of two (2) Financial Analysts and a Senior Financial Analyst.

Skills Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have experience in a complex finance environment and the ambition to drive a range of financial reporting across the agency. We are looking for a person with high level analytical skills and sound written and oral communication skills who can effectively deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and influence others and lead and manage a team of professionals.
  • Applicants must possess tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience. Membership of CPA Australia (CPA) or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA) will be highly regarded.
