Serves as the database engineering lead. Database engineers are in charge of designing and maintaining the DVARS data model and the associated data processes for receiving, validating and parsing inbound data, developing procedures for managing the live database, to include archiving of older operational data. They must constantly test the data that is coming from the database to ensure it is not corrupted. Most databases require constant updates to keep up ever-changing computer technologies. Database engineers integrate new products and software packages into the system, and seeing that the data produced is accurate. They may even train other employees in the organization on how to access a database and how to make the best use of its contents. Database engineers come into their positions in a variety of different paths, but all share an in-depth knowledge of computer programming and data manipulation techniques.
- Bachelor/ Honors(Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)) completed.
Additional Academic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics or an equivalent discipline is require.
Minimum 10 years of experience is required.
Additional Experience Requirements
Ten (10) years’ experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, experience with managing a company's flow of information. Database engineer designs and maintains a database that provides informative and relevant data to other employees within the organization. Database engineers may be employed by companies that make use of large amounts of information.
