  Position  

Senior Sector Specialist, Programme Support; WASH

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to implement water and sanitation interventions including preparing technical designs
  • Find out better solution for ensuring high quality of WASH services
  • Train and build the capacity of staff and stakeholders
  • Prepare relevant field reports that will feed into internal reporting and donor reporting
  • Frequent field visit and find out the success stories, challenges, scope of further improvement of project
  • Ensure full collaboration and efficient implementation of cross-cutting activities, and the documentation of successes, lessons learnt and best practices in WASH
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships, introduce new practices and/or ideas, planning and management of workshops, seminars
  • Actively engaged with strengthening monitoring mechanisms, including budget tracking, financial monitoring
  • Prepare programme operational guideline as needed
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering/ Water Engineering or any relevant subject from recognised university with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in academic examinations

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 02 years’ experience in relevant field is required

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge on Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) sector, and the wider public health sector
  • Excellent skills in negotiation and donor reporting
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills both in Bangla and English
  • Strong analytical ability with able to handle critical situation
  • Excellent ICT skills including MS Office (particularly Word and Excel, Power Point)
  Salary and benefits  

Salary Range: Negotiable
