Position: Deputy Manager, Partnership and Communications (Contractual), Humanitarian Crisis Management Project
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the BRAC’s humanitarian response team
to develop and ensure implementation of a communication strategy in
line with BRAC Communication Guidelines and follow up its
implementation
- Write posts/ updates/ op-eds/ blogs and provide content
(text, photos, design) where needed on Workplace, BRAC websites, BRAC
social media teams in other relevant reports and publications, as
required
- Write and edit clear and compelling media advisories and
press releases that avoid jargon and cliché, and ensure media coverage
with supervision of the Head of External Relations and Communication
- Organise events (e.g. disseminations seminars,
inauguration) according to programme’s needs and represents BRAC’s work
in various forums
- Facilitate development of videos, design and print material as per unit/project needs
- Assist in reporting internal/ external in collaboration with the information management team
- Ensure all colleagues, and other departments liaising with partners/ donors have all communication materials in place on time
- Act as doorkeeper of quality of all documents, materials, and publications etc.
- Identify necessary and potential areas for material development and/ or up-gradation
- Assist in producing communications material
Educational Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelors in social sciences/
Communications/ Journalism/ Media relations or Development Studies from
any recognised university/ institution with minimum 2nd division/ class
or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations. No 3rd division/
class or below CGPA is acceptable
Experience Requirements:
At least 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in
analytical and writing work related job, corporate communications,
change communications, journalism, marketing, fundraising, public
affairs or other related field within the international development
sector
Additional Job Requirements:
- Excellent computer and relevant technical skills on
communication and material development (including Adobe InDesign,
Photoshop etc.)
- Excellent communicator with strong writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla
- In-depth empirical and analytical understanding in the context of humanitarian crisis and emergency response
- Excellent team player with necessary analytical,
organisational and project management, problem solving and
interpersonal skills, able to work with minimal direction,
pro-activeness, flexible and highly creative
- Hands on experience to deal with the Government sectors as well as the International Agencies
