We require highly competent individual to fill up the following positions:
Associate Scientist, Field Research/ Molecular Breeding

for ACI-IRRI-PPP

Job Responsibilities:
  • Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Scientist, the Associate Scientist will:
  • Work collaboratively in the ACI-IRRI PPP rice breeding team for inbreed and hybrid rice research.
  • Take part in selection of progenies from segregating populations.
  • Take part in evaluating advance breeding lines and conducting multi location trials.
  • Production of certified seeds of inbreed varieties in cooperation with SCA.
  • Production of hybrid rice seed and A, B, R lines.
  • Carry out data collection and analysis of research results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, publications, and presentations of research output.
  • Contribute to information generation and storage for maintaining the rice breeding database.
  • Supervise the works of research technicians and field assistants.

We Require:

  • Masters in Genetics & Plant Breeding or related agricultural fields.
  • Experience in field research of cereal crops, field trial set up and data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in using statistical software and have strong analytical skills.
  • Sound understanding of marker-assisted breeding in cereal crops.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
