In continuation to that, BRAC has taken Humanitarian Crisis Management Project in Ukhia and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district to support the displaced people arriving from the Rakhine state of Myanmar.

Position: Psychosocial Support Worker (Contractual), Humanitarian Crisis Management Project

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Organise psychosocial support activities both in the centre and as outreach activities
  • Identifies volunteers in Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) community and conducts capacity building
  • Empowers volunteers to lead psychosocial support services
  • Works with Case Managers and Community Workers to ensure systematic identification, support, referral and record keeping of the psychosocial support found and provided
  • Conducts rapid needs assessments

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Social Science/ Human Rights/ Social Work/ Gender Rights/ Child Rights/ Law/ International Law or any other related subject from any recognised university/ institutions

Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates having 01 year experience of work in organising psychosocial support activities and conducting community based consultations in emergency humanitarian crisis situations will be preferred

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Strong mentality to work with displaced people as well as Sexual and Gender Based Violence survivors
  • Ability to adapt to changes and work in tense situations
  • Strong motivation and ability to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders
  • Ability to speak the local Chittagong dialect is a plus

Salary Range: Negotiable
