Programme Head, Gender Justice & Diversity Programme
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Play strategic management roles to ensure gender
equality promotion and women empowerment and achieve expected results
in line with BRAC strategy and gender strategy (2016-2020) across BRAC
program operations and organisation
- Support to plan and ensure implementation of
gender integration plan/ approaches with programs
/enterprises/departments and ensure regular coordination and liaison for
its successful and effective achievements
- Collaborate and support BRAC programmes and enterprises to develop new initiatives from gender perspective
- Ensure GJD support for strengthening gender
responsive organizational development , capacity building including
strengthening of Gender Mainstreaming/ integration platforms like
GFP, promoting gender friendly work environment and redressing sexual
harassment at workplace
- Facilitate to develop gender responsive M&E system in programmes, department and for the organization as a whole
- Oversee and guide capturing gender equality
knowledge and learning from BRAC’s interventions for evidence based
gender advocacy and policy changes and hire appropriate gender
consultant for develop strategic document and review the gender
intervention
- Oversee GJD’s communication and documentation related activities, development of IEC,BCC and other communication materials
- Identify and plan for thematic study / research
on gender equality and hire appropriate gender expert for review the
gender intervention to sharpening sector specific models, developing
strategic documents for replication
- Playing leadership role in gender focused
networks, partnerships and alliances towards policy advocacy on VAWC,
Child Marriage issues, engage Men and boys at national, regional and
global level
- Oversee GJD’s budget planning, monitoring
including procurement and audit of the department and ensure technical
support in gender responsive program design to ensure gender, women’s
empowerment, EVAW inclusion
- Ensure timely submission of different periodic
reports to management, donors Government, AOP reviews etc. and manage
staff of the team and supervise the key staff of GJD at HO level and
review midyear /annual performance appraisal ,coaching and mentoring
GJD staff to improve their analytical and technical skills on gender
mainstreaming/sector specific gender integration approaches
- To initiate diversity guideline/ policy formulation and review gender policy based on current context

Requirements |
|
Educational Requirements: Masters
in Social Science/ Development Studies/ Women and Gender Studies/
Sociology/ Anthropology from any recognised university with all second
class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA 2.50 in all academic
examinations
Experience Requirements: At least 10
years of experience in sectoral gender sensitive programming and
implementation viz. governance, poverty, environment, conflict or
HIV/AIDS (including significant experience in capacity building on
gender mainstreaming)
Additional Job Requirements:
- Sound academic background on gender issues and
specialized experience in an international context in the field of
research on gender issues, gender sensitive indicators, including
gender sensitive programming, monitoring and evaluation
- Have strong gender sensitive statistical data manage capacity
- Need to track record on development of gender sensitive indicators and monitoring
- Strong links with international, regional and national networks working on gender equality and women’s rights
- Have knowledge on current national and global
development trends to women empowerment, community organizing and
social mobilization, rights based approach, gender, good governance,
access to information, result based management tools and techniques,
monitoring and evaluation of development programmes, communications
tools
- Skills on leadership and people management,
operations management, strategic thinking, decision making and problem
solving, communication and documentation, Programme/Project
management, conflict and risk management, project design and proposal
writing
- Competent on demonstrate analytical and advocacy skills on gender issues
especially with regard to policy advocacy in line with CEDAW and BPFA
- Ability to work under pressure and with multi-disciplinary and
multi-cultural teams
- Excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills
- Establishes and maintains relationships with a broad range of people
to understand needs and gain support, and is proactive in developing
strategies to accomplish objectives
