BRAC International is seeking application from competent,
dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:
Head of Social Enterprises, Uganda (Re-advertisement)
The Head of Social Enterprise- is the lead role to develop,
manage and expand portfolios of social enterprises of BRAC Uganda by
developing business strategy and identifying growth opportunities of
the enterprises.
The incumbent is also responsible to identify opportunities to expand
market and increase market share, find new products and services,
deepen client relationships; ways to increase revenue and effective
management of the enterprises.
Job Location: BRAC Uganda Country Office, Kampala, Uganda
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall social enterprise business.
- Review and prepare a business plan of social enterprises
(seed and training) in consultation with related department and country
team.
- Develop strategy to expand portfolios of seed
enterprises. Lead strategic planning, quarterly business reviews and
client planning.
- Guide the seed enterprise team to plan and implement the
Social Enterprise in accordance with the mission and goals of the
organization.
- Assist to deliver on value propositions for new and existing products, suggest for value added products.
- Work closely with agriculture research organizations for exploring germ plasm/ seed materials.
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of talented marketing professionals. Manage a revenue growth plan and profitable execution.
- Advice enterprises to build trusted relationships with clients and demonstrate a strong ROI and leveraging thought leadership.
- Interact with all level of Intra managers, related
Government officials, all stake holders to ensure effective management
of business and as well as coordinate the delivery of services and
products in a quality manner.
- Generate strategic marketing program ideas, marketing plans, and oversee the implementation of marketing initiatives.
- Support and review materials to be used in promotion of the enterprises.
- Serve as the highest escalation point on major account
roadblocks or risk factors and work collaboratively to resolve issues
quickly.
- Learning and knowledge management on best practices to achieve the overall as well as the specific goal. .
- Analyse the monthly/ quarterly/annually financial
statement prepared by each enterprise and guide them to take necessary
action accordingly.
- Help to ensure for the production and sale of quality products and collect feedback from the client.
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Business, Agribusiness, Marketing or
similar field is required (Master’s in Agriculture with MBA will be
preferred).
Required Competencies:
- Excellent organizational skills – must be able to
manage multiple, competing priorities with cross-functional teams
in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Exceptional communication skills – create open and
ongoing dialogue with clients and internal team members; extensive
presentation experience a must
- Business strategy, communication, presentation and networking skills.
- Strong understanding of technical proficiency on MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and general computer and web technologies
Experience Requirements:
- 10 years of senior-level experience in agribusiness management, preferably seed business.
- Corporate and/or agency-side sales and marketing
experience with an emphasis on relevant product marketing demand
generation and marketing strategy
- Strong management experience providing guidance to a
small team and ability to manage at all levels of an organization
