Head of Budget, Finance and Accounts Department

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

• Coordinate annual budget formulation and prepare annual budget
• Ensure the receipt of budget estimates from concern departments and critically examine correctness, accuracy and completeness; and comply with established procedures, regulations and organisational objectives
• Coordinate the study of previous budget and taking consideration of benefits and losses occurred during previous financial years due to budget planning
• Suggest suitable amendments of budget to higher authorities and managerial staff of concerned department
• Render financial advice to management officials of different operations to undertake proper financial planning and decision making
• Analyse actual results to budget and forecast
• Ensure submission of budget reports to higher management for further scrutiny and approval in accordance with approved policy and also monitoring budget throughout the year
• Contribute in projecting future financial needs, taking into considerations the various projects undertaken by organisation and assist management for financial resources
• Lead capacity development team and plan the staff development for both head office and field office and execute properly
• Manage teams which includes hiring, training, coaching, appraising job contributions and recommending compensation actions

Educational Requirements:

• Masters/ MBA in Accounting and Information Systems/ Finance/ Management from any recognised university/ institution with minimum 2nd division/ class or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examination. Professional degree on CA/ ACCA/ CMA is required

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years’ of experiences in project analysis/ budget/ financial analysis

Additional Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of preparation of various budgets and implementation of budget
• Practical knowledge of budget variance analysis and recommend management for appropriate decision making
• Analytical ability and technical knowledge
• Professional attachment with related field
• Sound knowledge about the accounts, finance, ratio analysis, financial management, strategic management
