Position |
|
Deputy Manager, Capacity Development and Training, Climate Change Programme
Job Description/Responsibilities:
- Develop training modules on climate change
mitigation, adaptation and related issues particularly on mainstreaming
climate change at BRAC
- Conduct training and orientation on climate change
issues in alignment with the organisational policy papers such as
climate change strategy, environmental policy, environmental and social
safeguard framework
- Organise Conventions on 'Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction' for the adolescents at the regional level
- Coordinate with other BRAC programmes and assess training, capacity development need for mainstreaming climate change
- Assist management in formation of relevant
committees as prescribed in the environmental policy and initiate the
process of activation of the "Green Standing Committee', 'Green Teams'
and 'Green Envoys' in the process towards making BRAC 'climate-smart'
- Ensure all logistic support during training and
capacity development events such as training session, workshop, seminar,
symposium etc.
- Work in capacitating a Cadre of 'Climate Change Champions within BRAC' focusing on young people
- Liaise with local government to plan resource and responsibility distribution for emergencies
- Support higher management in making suitable decisions in mainstreaming climate change at BRAC and stakeholders working with

Requirements |
|
Educational Requirements:
- Masters in Social Science/ Development Studies/
Disaster Management/ Business Administration or any other related
subject from any recognised university with all second class/ division
or equivalent GPA/ CGPA in all academic examinations. No 3rd division/
class or below CGPA is acceptable
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in relevant field.
Candidates having experience in training need assessment, module
development and facilitation will get preference
Additional Job Requirements:
- Have knowledge on climate change and disaster risk reduction and the ability to understand new terminology and concepts easily
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to develop networks and collaborations
- Strong analytical ability and able to perform assigned tasks independently
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with have a sense of responsibility and
adaptability
- Very good command on Microsoft Office Packages and Internet browsing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills both in Bengali and English
Age Range: Maximum 35 years
