We are inviting application from Bangladeshi Nationals for the following position of the Property, Operation, Maintenance & Energy Cost (POMEC) Department. The candidates must fulfill the following criteria to qualify for the position:

General Technician

Responsibility:

General Technician shall be the representative of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka to ensure 5 Star Standard Plumbing & Welding related maintenance facilities for our valued guests with smiling face and handle every Plumbing & Welding related issue efficiently, courteously and professionally. The incumbent has to perform the following duties but not limited to, as follows:

  • Operation and maintenance of Plumbing equipment's, maintenance and carries out all general repair works as assigned.
  • Provide requisitions for necessary supplies and equipment to perform assigned work and ensure efficiently utilization of all the supplies.
  • Promptly reports problems and the professional completion of assigned work to the supervisor.
  • Reports hazardous practices or conditions to the supervisor immediately and suggest corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Perform daily checks on Plumbing covered areas and maintains work areas neat, clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Implementation of knowledge and experience on Arc, Gas and Braze Welding.
  • Becomes familiar with location and operation of all equipment and serves HEAT (Hotel Emergency Action Team) Team at the time of emergency.
  • Recommends changes in procedures or suggest new procedures to minimize safety problems, guest inconvenience and operating expenses.
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
  • Any other lawful assignment given by the competent authority as and when requirement basis.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum HSC or equivalent technical course passed from a government recognized Institution. Higher Educational Qualification will be treated as an added advantage.
  • Must have technical course from the Technical Training Center (TTC-Government Authorized Institution) on Plumbing & Welding.
  • Minimum 03 (three) years of working experience as a Plumber in Hospitality Industry/Multi storied building/Multinational Company (MNC).
  • Should have knowledge and experience on Arc, Gas & Braze Welding.
  • Should have experience in maintenance, repair, fabrication, fitting and fixing and all plumbing and welding works, pipeline works, water pumps assembling, kitchen equipment maintenance, Laundry equipment maintenance and fire extinguishing system maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, safety manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Not more than 25 (twenty-five) years of age as of last date of submitting the application.

Other Requirements:

  • Presentable personality, well groomed, courteous and excellent inter-personal relationship skills.
  • Fluent in spoken English as well as very good in listening.
  • Commendable documented communications proficiency both in spoken & written English and Bangla.
  • Physically fit and lift up to 10 kg weight by hands.
  • Should have a “Can Do Attitude”.
  • Confident to work independently with minimum supervision and ready to work in shifts as per duty roster.
  • Ready to work extra hours irrespective of Duty schedule based on emergency situations.
