Information Management Assistant |
Job Responsibility |
The incumbent is expected to demonstrate the following general and technical
competencies:
- Support office in collecting and ensuring information is up-to-date
- Support in maintaining incidents and other databases as necessary;
- Assist in the preparation presentations, working papers and tables for briefing
and review sessions;
- Produce various information products as required;
- Support IM in preparing reports, work plans etc.
- Develop and maintain the network of partners to gather, maintain and produce
wide range of information products;
- Geographic Information System (GIS) & Mapping
- Support IM in develop and maintain spatial baseline and operational datasets in
accordance with relevant standards and guidance;
- Produce and update high-quality map products and online services;
- Maintain a repository of spatial data and ensure that the data are documented
and accessible to all humanitarian partners through local and/or online
services.
- Visualization
- Support IM to produce and update information products such as reports, charts
and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages
and a storyline;
- Develop posters, presentations and other visual materials.
- Assist to design, develop and maintain databases;
- Assist IM in designing and developing database management systems,
monitoring tools and data collection tools/templates
- Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing;
- Support IM in preparing and providing training to SMEP field supervisors and
other partners.
- Any other activity as reasonably requested by the supervisor(s);
- Undertake other duties that may be required by the Information Manager or
Operations Manager.
- Participate in field missions and act as translator, whenever necessary.

- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer
Science & Engineering (CSE), Engineering, Science.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in relevant field.
- Previous experience in UN, UN Affiliate or other International organizations is an advantage
