SMEP Plant Maintenance Officer (Mechanic)
Job Responsibility
  • Support both in-workshop and on-site repair and service operations on
    Caterpillar Excavator, Roller and Bulldozer, Bobcat Skid Loader and Utility
    vehicles and other equipment ensuring quality of work within the shortest
    possible time
  • Carry out routine and scheduled maintenance tasks on all SMEP vehicles and
    equipment
  • Maintain all necessary technical documentation i.e. maintenance log sheet,
    service data sheet
  • Collaborate with the operators and other mechanics to ensure continuous
    operations of all the machines
  • Continuous monitoring of the operator’s vehicle log sheet and communication
    with the operators to find out problem reports
  • Report progress and issues to the relevant supervisor in a timely manner
  • Facilitate and collaborate with the service technicians of local dealer of the
    machines i.e. BanglaCAT, MAZADA in scheduled maintenance works
  • Will be responsible to buy appropriate spare parts from local market (Ukhia,
    Cox’s Bazar) in rapid response cases
  • Communication with the suppliers and dealers for on-time delivery of spare
    parts
  • Ensure that all work is done in accordance with applicable legal and
    organization procedures, including Environment, Health & Safety policies
  • Will be involved in contributing and delivering improvements to processes and
    procedures
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor(s)
Employment Status Contractual
Educational and Experience Requirement
  • Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Technology with at least three (3) years
    of experience in automobile workshop/engine maintenance of construction
    vehicle/heavy equipment
  • Incumbents having technical/vocational training in automobile/engine
    maintenance with six (6) years of extensive experience in the relevant field will
    also be considered
  • Previous experience in UN, UN Affiliate or other International organizations is
    an advantage
Additional Requirement
  • Language proficiency in English and Bangla
  • Having a driver’s license (four wheeler) will also be advantageous
