  Position  

District Manager, Community Empowerment Programme

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Organize district level planning, budgeting and monitoring of all 4 components of CEP
  • Explore new opportunities and innovative scope of work in ending VAW and promoting women’s leadership through linkages with local network, organization in GO, NGO and private sector level
  • Extract learning’s through facilitative monitoring and knowledge sharing mechanism
  • Attend/ coordinate/ represent in GO/ NGO meetings/ forums at district level
  • Ensure timely and quality implementation of all activities under CEP’s four components at field level as per operational guideline
  • Ensure Implementation of partnership project with other programme and other Organization
  • Plan and ensure meeting, training, workshop, refreshers, dialogue session of all components of CEP
  • Increase leadership role in Pollishomaj and quality of Polli Shomaj by enhancing their role in bringing transformative change in family and social life.
  • Ensure close supervision of pilot initiatives of cost effective model and capture learning through documentation
  • Ensure immediate reporting of incidents of Violence Against Women , provide medical treatment, connecting with relevant service providers, ensure counseling for the survivors, follow up of rehabilitated survivors
  • Ensure and follow up the activities of animator, Citizen committee, Ward Shova, Upazila Development forum for creating accountable local government
  • Ensure Popular Theatre (PT) show, take initiatives for PT marketing and improvement of PT and the performers
  • Organize and Participate in field visits by donor/ GO/ other relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings to take initiatives for developing capacity of PO/ FO
  • Develop competency plan for PO/ FO base on their need and implementation
  • Ensure staff benefit as per HR policy and procedure
  • Network with other organization regarding women empowerment and prevention & protection of violence against women and maintain close networking and liaison with district level relevant government offices and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure effective coordination with DBR and other programme staff to get quality support for CEP
  • Lead to develop programmatic budget as per yearly operational plan and ensure expenditure according to the budget and take steps for actual coding of expenditure
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly of programme reports, MIS reports in due time and submit to RM (CEP)
  • Ensure quality entry of two running database on due time and prepare case story & other documents and submit to respective staff
  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Social Science/ Development Studies from any recognised university with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA 2.50 in all academic examinations

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in a relevant position in any local or national NGO. Have Experienced in working with interventions on Social Mobilization, Women Empowerment and Community Development

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Have sound knowledge on programme cycle management, gender & women Management, Good Governance, human rights, government safety net programme, national development trends at the social context of Bangladesh
  • Good articulation, presentation and writing skills in Bangla and English is preferable
  • Good in reporting, situation analysis and context analysis
  • Strong social skills - especially when working with community groups
  • Apply understanding of the political and cultural context and underlying causes of the imbalance power structure
  • Contribute positively in the team to achieve programme objectives
  • Remain constructive and positive under stress to be able to tolerate difficult and
    challenging environments
  • Have proficiency on MS Word (Windows), Excel, Access and data analysis
    packages e.g. SPSS and familiar with PowerPoint
  • Excellent time management, leadership, analytical ability, multitasking,
    facilitation, Communication, Presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent team player and building relationship

Age Range: Maximum 35 years
