Position: Programme Head, Gender Justice and Diversity Programme

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic management/ guidance into planning and ensuring implementation of the GJD interventions on gender integration plan/ approach with selected programs and enterprises
  • Collaborate with BRAC programmes and enterprises to ensure sector specific gender mainstreaming designs and methodologies and developing new initiatives from gender perspective to achieve BRAC gender goals and inclusion at various levels
  • Ensure GJD support for strengthening gender responsive organizational development including staff capacity building, Gender Mainstreaming platform like GFP in BRAC along with promoting gender friendly environment and redressing sexual harassment at workplace
  • Coach and mentor GJD staff to improve their analytical skills, develop team spirit and cooperative attitudes among project personal and different stakeholders
  • Facilitate to develop gender responsive M&E system in selected program, department and as whole organization to ensure tracking and reporting of gender equality results with BRAC interventions
  • Ensure functioning of BRAC led networks, partnerships and alliances towards policy advocacy on Gender
  • Equality, VAWC, Ending Child Marriage issues and Engage Men and Boys at national, regional and global level
  • Oversee and guide capturing gender equality knowledge and learning from BRAC’s interventions for evidence based gender advocacy and policy changes
  • Oversee GJD’s communication and documentation related activities, development of IEC, BCC and other communication materials
  • Develop project proposal based on the context of gender, women empowerment, EVAW and sexual and reproductive health
  • Oversee and finalize GJD’s budget, audit, procurement and other resources
  • Ensure all progress reports, donor report, report to Govt etc. and timely summation and maintain effective communication with impact with donors, government line ministry and relevant stakeholders including SPA and Gender Team
  • Manage and Supervise the key staff of GJD at HO level and performance appraisal including managing grievance of the team
  • Support BRAC senior management for adopting new strategic directions on gender justice and diversity issues
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy and follow its reporting procedure in case of any reportable incident. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise for establishing a safe working environment and ensure that team members have the required means to act in accordance with the policy and its procedure

  Requirements  

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Social Science/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Social Work/ Women and Gender Studies/ Psychology from any recognized university with all second class/ division or equivalent GPA/ CGPA 2.00 in all academic examinations

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 12 years of professional experience on Gender Analysis, Gender Mainstreaming, Women Empowerment and Leadership Development, Global gender issues and challenges both at organizational and programmatic level

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Active involvement with women movement at national, regional and global level
  • Experience in gender responsive project design and set indicator to measure the gender equality progress
  • Must demonstrate accountability, collaboration, creativity, integrity
  • Have skills on communication with impact
  • Have leadership ability and people management skills
  • Strong understanding on Gender Analysis tools and practical knowledge and skills to use them
  • Collaboration experience in gender integration/ mainstreaming with sectoral programmes/ Projects
  Salary and benefits
